How SA HealthPath should be understood

SA HealthPath is a demonstration training simulator for public health navigation judgment. It is not a clinical decision-support tool, diagnostic tool, emergency-response system, or substitute for professional protocols.

For training and demonstration only. Always follow applicable clinical, organizational, crisis-response, and emergency protocols for any real-world situation.

A. Purpose

SA HealthPath is an interactive public health navigation simulator designed to help learners practice resident risk screening, urgency assessment, referral pathway selection, and community resource decision-making through simulated San Antonio-based case scenarios.

B. Intended users

The simulator is intended for training and demonstration use by public health students, community health workers, care navigators, case managers, social-service navigators, and public health professionals.

C. Scenario development

Scenarios are fictional but modeled on realistic public-health navigation challenges, including heat vulnerability, food insecurity, housing instability, behavioral health escalation, maternal health, and language access.

D. Competency domains

  • Screening Questions
  • Risk Recognition
  • Urgency Judgment
  • Referral Fit
  • Safety & Language Access

E. Governance status

This version is a demonstration prototype. It has not yet undergone formal clinical, legal, emergency-response, or agency protocol review.

F. Review cadence

Any pilot or operational version should include expert review, scenario validation, local resource review, and periodic updates to referral pathways.

G. Safety boundary

High-risk scenarios involving suicidal ideation, firearm access, heat emergency risk, maternal health concerns, uncontrolled chronic disease, or child safety concerns require escalation through appropriate professional, organizational, emergency, or crisis protocols.

H. Data and privacy

The app uses fictional scenarios, does not request or collect protected health information, and should not be used to enter real resident or client information.

I. Limitations

The app is for education and workforce-development practice only. It does not diagnose, provide medical advice, replace mandated reporting duties, replace emergency services, or determine eligibility for public benefits.
